So, the bottom line is that we are stuck with default skins when offline. You can use any skin and replace it with default ones. Let’s also mention that as of 1.13 being offline automatically resets our current skin to a default one, and that modifying THAT default skin with the character creator is also impossible. Well, technical skins are textures that are used on characters to give them a distinct look. To clarify, I don’t suggest we necessarily retain the option to MODIFY our custom skins (although it would be even better), I simply suggest that we at least KEEP the avatars that we made last time we were online. skins even offline, which is now not even the case anymore. Scroll down and find a good minecraft server that seems right for you - click on the server, copy the Server Address (IP & Port) and paste it into your minecraft client at the Multiplayer option. Worse yet, before update 1.13 Switch users had access to Mario Bros. Minecraft Server List (mcsl) is showcasing some of the best Minecraft Servers in the world to play on online. Right now we only have the two default characters to play with when offline, which is very frustrating if we often play outside of home. This feature would be hugely useful on portable devices like the Switch, with which we have usually no internet connection on the go. With the new character creator on Bedrock, it would be nice to retain access to our created skins when offline, presumably by having the game save them locally on the console/device (until an update is made with a new user connection, when back online).
